Florida video production coverage and service areas
I’m based in Central Florida and work across the state — Orlando, Tampa, Miami, West Palm Beach, Jacksonville, Gainesville, and Daytona Beach, plus out-of-state travel when a client needs it. I own my camera, lighting, and audio package, so travelling to a market doesn’t mean sourcing local rental or building a crew from scratch. For agencies and production companies, that usually means one line on the budget instead of three.
Orlando
Home base, so there’s no travel line at all. Orlando is one of the top three convention markets in the country, which makes it the busiest for conference recaps, trade show coverage, and multi-day event work — the Orange County Convention Center, the International Drive resort hotels, and the corporate campuses around the metro.
Tampa
About ninety minutes from home base, comfortably a same-day round trip. Tampa work tends to be corporate headquarters video, executive interviews, and conference coverage downtown and around the Water Street district.
Daytona Beach
Roughly an hour out, and the easiest day trip on this list. Motorsports, event coverage, and the tourism and hospitality work that comes with the Speedway calendar.
Gainesville
About two hours. University-adjacent work, healthcare and research organisations, and education video — a category I already shoot heavily.
Jacksonville
Around two and a half hours. Corporate, logistics, and financial services video, plus stadium and event coverage. Usually planned as an overnight if there’s more than one shoot day.
West Palm Beach
About two and a half hours. Private clubs, golf, private aviation around Palm Beach International, and the wealth-management and professional-services firms along the corridor. Three of my strongest categories overlap here.
Miami
Roughly three and a half hours, normally planned with an overnight. International brands, aviation and marine, hospitality, and agency-commissioned commercial work.
- Travel inside Central Florida is included — no separate line
- Out-of-market work is billed per trip, quoted up front, never as a surprise on the invoice
- Multi-day and multi-city shoots are cheaper per day than repeat single-day trips, so cluster them where you can
- Out-of-state travel is routine; I’ve worked well beyond Florida
- $2M general liability with certificates of insurance issued to any venue, usually same day
- FAA Part 107 certified for aerial work, subject to airspace authorisation
- Agencies who need Florida coverage without flying a crew in
- Production companies covering a Florida shoot from out of state
- National brands with multiple Florida locations to capture
- Event producers running conferences across more than one Florida city
- Companies headquartered outside Florida with a Florida facility, event, or customer
Do you charge travel to Tampa, Miami, or Jacksonville?
Out-of-market travel is billed per trip and quoted before the shoot. Travel inside Central Florida is included. If a project involves several Florida cities, tell me up front — clustering them into one trip is meaningfully cheaper than booking separate days.
Can you cover a shoot in more than one Florida city?
Yes, and it’s a common request for national brands with multiple Florida sites. A multi-city run planned as a single trip costs less per location than the same shoots booked individually.
Do I need to hire local crew as well?
Usually not. I own a full camera, lighting, and audio package and travel with it, so there’s no local rental to source. For larger builds I bring a second shooter, audio operator, or gaffer rather than assembling unknown local crew.
Will you provide a COI for a venue in another city?
Yes. $2M general liability, with certificates issued to the venue or client on request, usually the same day. Most convention centres and private clubs require it before load-in regardless of which city you’re in.
Do you work outside Florida?
Yes, regularly. Out-of-state travel is quoted per trip. A good share of that work comes from agencies and production companies who’d rather fly one DP with his own package than build a crew in an unfamiliar market.
